Amelia is currently part of the Healing Kids, Healing Families team, contributing to research focused on supporting adolescents living with type 1 diabetes. She is a research assistant and counsellor with a strong interest in mental health, trauma, young people, wellbeing and meaning-in-life. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Western Australia and a Master of Counselling from the University of Notre Dame. Currently undertaking a Graduate Diploma of Psychology at Edith Cowan University, Amelia is working toward becoming a psychologist and hopes to pursue a PhD, with the aim of contributing to the mental health field by helping to bridge research and clinical practice.
Amelia has experience in research implementation, including delivering the LYRIC While You Wait program–an early intervention initiative developed through the Curtin EnAble Institute–for young people experiencing mental health concerns at headspace.
